Pueblo Colorado

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Pueblo County is located in Southern Colorado along the southern edge of the state’s major growth corridor. Pueblo County has a very mild climate with moderate temperatures throughout its four seasons. The average daily high is 68 degrees with an average daily low of 37. Although the county receives an annual average snowfall of 31 inches, its moderate temperatures do not allow snow to stay on the ground for long. Pueblo County offers some of the most spectacular recreation opportunities available in the United States. There’s something here for everyone.

The City of Pueblo has a long and colorful history dating back to 1842 when it was called Fort Pueblo. Blessed with 300 days of sunshine a year, Pueblo is a lively city with a great love of the outdoors. With a brand-new urban kayak course, bike trails, rivers and lakes for fishing and sunny golf courses, Pueblo is a great place for recreation.

The rich history of the county is infused throughout the Frontier pathways Scenic and Historic Byway, which also offers over 100 miles of scenic beauty, numerous museums and recreational opportunities. Both a state and national Byway, the tour climbs from the high plains, through Hardscrabble Canyon, by breathtaking mountain vistas, to quaint mountain towns, returning to Pueblo’s upbeat urban atmosphere. If you are looking for a wonderful place to enjoy outdoor activities including lakes, fishing and skiing, then this is the right area for you. Pueblo County is just 110 miles from downtown Denver. So although you might have felt that you are in the middle of the mountains, all of the amenities are just a short drive away.

Discovering Cochise County

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Travelers from all over the world come to Cochise County, Arizona to savor its unique charm, an uncommon blend of creativity, friendliness, style, romance and adventure- all wrapped in the splendor of the Old West. Cochise County allows you to unwind, relax and find soothing respite from the everyday world. Nestled in the mile-high Mule Mountains of southern Arizona, this area has maintained an Old World charm seldom found anywhere in the United States.

Southern Arizona has areas that remain amazingly cool in the summer. Up in the pine forests above 8,000 feet, temperatures remain in the comfortable 80’s. Although these elevations receive a good snowfall in the winter, many people flock to these latitudes to soak in the nearly cloudless warmth of the southern sun. Explore Cochise County by traveling through the hills of a quaint old mining town or across vast expanses of open range lands or into the tall pines along mountain streams.

Here are some other cool sites I found on Cochise County.
